Subject:Race for the Cure -- Join Team M. D. Anderson

Encourage members of your department to put on their running shoes and Race for the Cure on Saturday, October 2! Together, we can make it to number one and have the most participants from any large organization!

All the details are listed below along with an attached flier and poster. If you need additional hard copies of the flier or poster to display in your area, please contact us at Public Education via Lotus Notes or call 2-3363. Anyone, including employees, family members, volunteers or patients, can sign up as part of our large group just remember to select code MDA M. D. Anderson Cancer Center.

Registration
Racing to be number one is easier than ever before. This year registration is online at http://www.komen-houston.org. M. D. Anderson wont be hosting an on-site registration or packet pick-up. The good news is that theres no need to remember where or when on-site registration or packet pick-up will be, and all materials will be delivered directly to your mailbox!

Registration is $31 and includes postage and your race t-shirt (Due to lack of funding, M. D. Anderson t-shirts will not be provided this year). To register, go to www.komen-houston.org and click on Register for the Race. Under Register Here select Join a Large Group followed by the code MDA M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. Those without Internet access are welcome to register using the computers in the Research Medical Library located in the Yellow Zone at Y2.6005.
Deadline
The deadline for online registration is Saturday, September 25.

Race Day
The race takes place on Saturday, October 2, at a new downtown location with the pre-race area at Sam Houston Park and the post-race festivities at Eleanor Tinsley Park on Allen Parkway. Parking is very accessible with more than 50 public parking lots within 12 blocks of the race area. The new MetroRail can take you to within five blocks of the start line.

Questions
For questions regarding this years race or requests for fliers or posters promoting the race, please contact the Public Education Office at Public Education via Lotus Notes or call (713) 792-3363.
