Chaplaincy Director David Jenkins has been posting on the weblog leaders in the field including Dr. Mendelsohn and Dr. George Fitchett. I thought a section on chaplaincy leaders, movers, co-creators and updates is worth starting here; a ¡®small corner¡¯ where one can post in a consolidated manner thanks and goodbyes, cheers and assurances, support and appreciations resonating the few posts we now have. Names may be important. But I suppose the spirit of courage, initiative, and commitment behind the names is more important.
Let me start with our very own David Jenkins. Currently, David is a member of the Working Group of chaplains, bioethicists, academicians, and physicians conducting a project on professional chaplaincy and healthcare quality improvement with The Hastings Center. Members of this solid team of leaders include George Fitchett himself, Nancy Berlinger, Martin Smith, and Raymond De Vries to name some. The Hastings Center since its founding has been a bedrock resource of cutting edge bioethical research and reflection. I wish David and the team a very fruitful scientific endeavor and advocacy for chaplaincy.
