Dr. Elena Martinez will visit Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center on Thursday, November 11, to accept the 2010 Distinguished Alumnus Award and to deliver a lecture.
Dr. Martinez is currently Professor of Epidemiology at the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health and holds the Richard H. Hollen Professor of Cancer Prevention from the American Cancer Society at the Arizona Cancer Center. She co-directs the Cancer Prevention and Control Program and is also co-Director of the Cancer Health Disparities Institute at the Arizona Cancer Center.
Dr. Martinez will deliver the Distinguished Alumnus Lecture at Noon in the Hickey Auditorium. The title of her talk is "Colorectal Cancer Prevention: Opportunities for a Fruitful and Challenging Career." She will be recognized as the Distinguished Alumnus for 2010 during the Faculty Honors Convocation at 4:00 p.m.
