On a bright and warm morning, several patients and designers from the MD Anderson Cancer Center Children's Art Project (CAP) traveled to the Houston Garden Center where they painted two new spring-time designs.  Complete with easels, plenty of colorful paint and inspiring surroundings, the children created a large red butterfly and a scene of beautiful tulips.

For many of these patients, participation in CAP activities means time away from the hospital and an opportunity to connect with their peers. With support from staff in the MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital, the kids are able to focus on one thing -- having fun.

Each of the day's painted designs are available in CAP's 2011 spring catalog, which contains a variety of new products featuring the children's artwork including phone covers, stationery, jewelry and more.

Sale proceeds fund important patient-focused programs such as scholarships, summer camps and other programs that support and enhance the development of young cancer patients.
