Riders for the Cure - Working to Cure Cancer
Riders for the Cure provides community awareness for different types of cancer and the various efforts to support research and education. As a group, we strive to promote communication and cooperation within the Texas Medical Center. We assist the MD Anderson Cancer Center in raising funds to be used toward the stated institutional goal of Making Cancer History®.
Chaplain Sylvia Klauser participated in Saturday's Sam Jam 1 event that raised nearly $6,000 to benefit M. D. Anderson's Children's Hospital. Despite a full riding calendar for that date, we had 138 bikes and 201 riders participate, and the ride went off perfectly.
