My aunt has been diagnosed with appendiceal adenocarcinoma. The cancer has spread to your spine and it is deteriorating her spine. Everything we have read on this type of cancer says it usually spreads in the pelvic area to other organs. Her type has not. Has anyone heard of this type of cancer or a case of this type spreading to the spine. They diagnosed it last week. In a two months time she has went from walking to not getting out of bed. We are in huntsville hospital in huntsville, alabama. After her radiation treatments we are planning coming to MD Anderson for second opinion and hopefully better treatment options. Right now, everything is inoperable and all they can do is treat with chemo to slow it down and prolong her life to a year or two.

can anyone help with any news on this type spreading to spine? or any suggestions?
