TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Use of DISCOVER

By completing this application, you signify your acceptance of these Terms of Use and the Legal Statements found on the MD Anderson website. You agree to provide true and accurate information about yourself. You will not impersonate any other person or attempt to access another user's account under any circumstance.

Use of Online Application

Access to the online application is available through a unique DISCOVER ID and password that will be created for you in the 'create account' process. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account DISCOVER ID and password. If you forget your DISCOVER ID or password, please use the "Lost Password" link located on the left menu on the home page. If you believe your DISCOVER ID and/or password have been compromised or your account has experienced unauthorized access, it is your responsibility to notify DISCOVER Support at MD Anderson.

You shall not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the MD Anderson system (data, materials, information, computer systems, networks, databases or servers) through hacking, password mining or by any other means. You agree never to obtain, or attempt to obtain, through the DISCOVER System ™, any information regarding the status of your online application or admission to the institution through any means other than a screen display within the online application or through accessibility by a visible link. Any such attempt may subject you to immediate sanction by MD Anderson, including termination from access to the site, as well as possible legal action against you.Your usage may be subject to security testing and monitoring.

Your in-progress application account will be kept active for 1 year following your last date of access. After this period of time, your DISCOVER ID and password will remain valid, but your application data will be removed.

I understand that it is my responsibility to protect passwords or other means of access to electronic information. It is also understood that MD Anderson and its representatives are not liable for breaches of confidentiality caused by any third party or myself.

Your Data

With few exceptions, you are entitled on your request to be informed about the information MD Anderson collects about you. Under Sections 552.021 and 552.023 of the Texas Government Code, you are entitled to receive and review the information. Under Section 559.004 of the Texas Government Code you are entitled to have MD ANDERSON correct information about you that is held by us and that is incorrect, in accordance with the procedures set forth in The University of Texas System Policy UTS139. The information that UTMDACC collects will be retained and maintained as required by Texas records retention laws (Section 441.180 et seq. of the Texas Government Code) and rules. Different types of information are kept for different periods of time.

Laws and Regulations

Access and use of the online application is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Unauthorized use or misuse of this service is prohibited and violators can be prosecuted under federal and state laws and may be subject to criminal prosecution. Texas law and Federal law will govern the interpretation and enforcement of these terms and conditions. If any provision or term of these Terms of Use shall be unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision or term shall be deemed severable from these Terms of Use and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions or terms.
